As promised, check out our interview with Aussie export Anthony Lister after the jump.

We went down to the Corked exhibition by Urban Angel this past Thursday and it was a feast for the eyes. A really nice space in the middle of a rather swanky Mayfair. It was funny to see this sort of set up right under the eyes of all those snooty, Ferrari-driving suits. There’s a selection of images from the show after the jump and as usual, they’re provided by Ian of Wallkandy.net
Todd James aka REAS will be presenting an exhibition of new work entitled “Blood & Treasure” at the Laz Gallery on Greek Street on the 29th August.
James is an internationally recognised artist who was a co-creator of the seminal Street Market exhibition at Deitch Projects in New York, which was selected for the Venice Biennale in 2001. James’ work has also been shown at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, the Tate Museum in Liverpool, the Parco gallery in Tokyo, and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco
Laz go onto explain that:
Protest images marked out in cartoon outrage, filled with recycled advertising cast-offs and corrupted child scrawls, these large-scale works of gouache and graphite smash the distance between death and jokes and between the viewer and what he or she probably goes around trying not to know about the present state of things.
Head down to the gallery on the 29th to get an insight into an artist who takes his work seriously but through cartoons!

‘I see figures & form everywhere, in water, carpet patterns, shadows, clouds, everything is an abstract character and they are free’
‘Of all weather phenomena, I find clouds the most fascinating, from the silky filaments of high altitude cirrus to the towering, threatening mass of storm-bearing cumulonimbus, clouds are as varied as the new work itself. I love cloud watching, from no where the fluffy mass morphing shapes from a cunning fox with whispy ears to familiar faces ’
The show is set to open on the 12th September through to the 28th and is a must for any fans of his work. For further information, check out the site
