Snik update

The stencil wizard Snik has been a busy bee, painting Upfest (Bristol) and the huge group show – ‘STENCIL BASTARDS’ (Zurich) along side c215, orticanoodles, BTOY, Eime, Leckomio and many more. He has updated his blog showing some of the fantastic work he has done over the last few weeks….I wonder when this guy finds the time to sleep between cutting.

My past month has been sort of a blur.

First a late night phone call from C215 asking to come to zurich in 2 weeks to be part of a huge group show – ‘STENCIL BASTARDS’. With great artists such as c215, orticanoodles, BTOY, Eime, Leckomio and many more, I could not turn it down. So obviously there was alot to do, and not much time.

The next few weeks were spent painting, cutting, painting, cutting, booking flights, cutting, and more painting.

But before I left for Zurich, I had a wall in Bristol at Upfest 2012 to paint. There was a part of me that was considering pulling out, but it was a nice wall, and I was in good company. So i sucked it up, and myself and Aura drove to bristol and blasted the wall in a day. I had cut the large version of my ‘Yesterdays Breeze’ piece for my Nocturnal solo show, but never got it up on a wall, so for me this was a great chance. After this we said hi to some old friends, ate some noodles, then drove back to Rutland to pack for Switzerland.

Monday came around, early rise, lots of coffee and a trip to the airport. Once we landed in Zurich we met the Owner of the ‘STARKART’ gallery, Roman. The concept of the show was very cool, each artist had their own room to paint, which gave a very personal touch to the show. So myself and Aura got cracking, painted up the big wall in the space, and hung the other works. Inbetween this we drank lots of wines, ate lots of cheese, and had some great times with friends (as well as painting some wall – and vans). The week came and went too fast, and before I knew it we were saying goodbye to some great new friends, and in my opinion the best group show I have been a part of to date.

My year has filled up really quickly, so keep an eye out for much more to come, including my next screen print release in a long time.
