I headed down to Hearn Street in London’s East End tonight to visit the private view of the “Urban Masters’ exhibition at Factory 7 with my friend from work who is part of Da Mental Vaporz. He had tipped me off that his friends from DMV were coming over from France for this so I was definitely interested in checking out some of the work by Bom.K and Brusk – I wasn’t disappointed!
Urban Masters is an alternative art installation hosted by Opera Gallery, with street and urban artists from all over the world who have rendered homages to the masters, masterpieces and muses that have influenced them.
The list of artists represented is of such a high calibre that the names do a lot of the speaking for themselves; the artworks are incredibly impressive, as is the layout of the space, lighting that compliments the pieces well.
Bom.K – Blo – Brusk – Gris1 – Jaw – Kan – Sowat – Lek – Roa – David Shillinglaw – Zezão – Sweet Toof – Blek Le Rat – Ron English – Mac1 – Matt Small – Alexandros Vasmoulakis – El Mac – C215 – Joe Black – Seen – Risk – Remi Rough – Sixeart – Zevs – Mentalgassi – Nick Gentry – The London Police – StinkFish – Rone – Banksy – Kid Zoom – Nick Walker – Shepard Fairey
The exhibition will also offer visitors a unique opportunity to meet some of the artists involved as there will be a poster / book signing featuring many of the aforementioned artists on the day of the public opening of the show: Friday 9th November 2012, 11am-7pm.
