Save the rabbit!

Author: 3 Comments Share:

We’re big fans of ROA here at UKSA so when we heard that Hackney council think that the rabbit on the side of The Premises Studios on Hackney Road is “a blight on the local environment and detrimental to the amenity of the area” we were thinking, what on earth are they on about? Are they serious? What on earth are they on about, I would understand if the artwork was offensive or something, but it’s a rabbit?

Julia from the studios got in touch as they want to campaign to save the artwork and infact, they own the wall. Some of you may have heard that about this already, but we feel that the art needs to be saved. On Monday they will be issuing a formal challenge to the council and as a help you can sign the petition here. You can also join their Facebook page here.

  1. I love this piece, we may have to understand people have different tastes in art… But surely EVERYONE likes rabbits.
(Okay except Elma Thud and farmers, neither of whom reside in, or near Hackney!)

  2. “The council says that in order to trigger a debate at a full council meeting more than 750 people who live, work or study in the borough need to sign its own e-petition which is due to go live on 1 December.”

Make sure you sign it. Use the systen to defeat the system.
