INSA has been busy painting up in Newcastle at the White Walls Project and the above is the biggest and most complex moving piece to date. The piece took 3 days and the wall was painted four times over to give the end result – painstaking work, but 100% worth it.
The real beauty behind the pieces are the way they work as animated gifs. Those of you who are obsessed with Tumblr (me included) will know all too well that an ani gif is a great thing and the newest from INSA doesn’t disappoint either. He’s used the image format to exaggerate the ephemeral nature of graffiti as each layer is painted on top of the last – a bespoke animation.
