Brugal Rum hits Covent Garden with London street artists

“Taking inspiration from the Dominican Republic’s thriving street art culture, street artists from London and beyond are taking part in a live event in Covent Garden, where locals and visitors can watch the art come to life before their eyes. Brugal Rum is hitting Covent Garden this weekend, bringing with them 3 artists: Jeba, Don and Ventza. The piece above was commissioned for the brand by Don.

Three giant columns will appear in the square on Saturday 27th November, and over the course of the weekend the artists will work to bring to life their own designs fusing together the influences of the Caribbean and UK. Artistic Londoners will also be able to flex their own creative muscles at the ‘pimp your t-shirt’ workshops happening in Navajo Joes (12pm-2pm & 4pm-6pm on Saturday 27th November) and Roadhouse (4pm-6pm on Sunday 28th November).

Bar goers will also be able sample Brugal cocktails at Navajo Joes from 12pm to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, and take advantage of special promotions including the free Brugal masterclass between 2.30pm and 4pm. Recently launched in the UK, Brugal is the Dominican Republic’s number one selling rum and is the only rum distilled, matured and bottled on the island. The Brugal family has managed the brand for five generations, and this tradition continues today, currently headed up by Franklin Brugal.

Brugal is perfect for serving neat, on the rocks or simply with a dash of soda or coke. Try a Brugal Santo Libre – Brugal Anejo Golden Rum, a dash of 7up, a wedge of lime and ice. To find out more about what’s happening, and to watch our artists in action, take a look for Brugal pimped my city on Facebook or follow them on Twitter @BrugalUK.
