Amilas have a dropped a new print and it’s a real beauty. “The Mall” is put together by two artists, Peter Kennard and Cat Picton Phillips and is a remarkable piece of work.
The Mall is a complex meeting of two mediums, photo etching and silkscreen. The paper must be wet for etching and dry for silkscreen this means that the images are always being printed off register making it very difficult to match both mediums. Around fifty prints were spoilt during this process. The background is hand screed before being etched and silkscreened, then each print has been finished with gold leaf.
The print is a signed edition of 28 and is hand finished on 410gsm Somerset satin paper. Better get in there quick then!
