Rough was at the Tate Modern on Friday to do a talk alongside Blek Le Rat on ‘The history of graffiti and street art’
We’ve got an interview for you lot coming up very soon and as a preview to the talents of this legend of the UK graf scene, we’ve got his intro video from Friday’s talk. This is a 3 minute wonder of so many amazing pieces that it’s hard to keep an eye on all them - you’re definitely going to be rewinding back to check them out again. One of my personal favourites is the “Weetabix” man. Enjoy
For those of us lucky enough to pick up a copy of July’s ID Magazine produced in association with Kaws, this video provides a neat little insight into the New York based artist’s thinking behind the project. If you haven’t yet found a copy, there’s still a few around so get down to your local newsagent pronto.
For more information on Kaws and his upcoming projects such as the Air Force One’s he recently designed for Nike check his blog here .
This superbly composed Molotow commercial hyping their super fat, damage inducing, ‘Masterpiece 760PI’ pump marker is visually stunning and elegantly scored. It features the handstyles of Copenhagen-based graffiti writer, BATES. The highly designed vandal-enabling tool comes with a 60 mm (2.3 inch) High-Flow tip, making it perfect for “fast working on large areas,” and to the delight of many municipalities the world over, the ‘Masterpiece’ is easily refillable, weather resistant and smudge proof. But most importantly, it’s “great for both industrial or commercial use,” that of course being the proper and legal way of saying: “great for going all-city.”
