Moniker Art Fair have announced their line-up for their signature projects spaces due to be launched at this year’s fair on the 13th of October 2011.

The artists spaces will provide a much more experimental and less commercial aspect to the art fair. The platform offers the artists to show experiential projects and ideas that may be outside of their normal line of work and everyday practice. The public can also view work from outside the mainstream art fair circuit – each space individually commissioned or supported by the various galleries taking part.

The works in this section will highlight the diversity of practice being produced from an international selection of emerging and established artists who come from both traditional and non-traditional backgrounds. These spaces will incorporate a mixture of visual art from exciting set design, large-scale canvases featuring portraiture through to abstract paintings, sculpture, and experimental graffiti installation.

The Stolen Space summer show is coming up. Running from 8th – 31st at the gallery on Brick Lane the show will feature works from D*Face, Word To Mother, Arth Daniels, Chloe Early, Dan Witz, David Bray, Eelus, EINE, Falk Jensen, Jake Wood Evans, James Mylne, Josie Morway to name but a few

Clouded Apollo is sure to be another stella show from Chloe and the Stolen Space crew. Catch it from November 6-29, with the private view this Thursday November 5.

In her paintings Chloe Early creates a fantastical landscape, an urban utopia where strange and wonderful things happen. For this exhibition ‘Clouded Apollo’, she has referenced a variety of images and contexts; a female figure twists and turns through time, suspended in an interior world of opulence and beauty, echos of patterns and pillars, glass roofs, chandeliers and roses. Outside we see far away skylines, buildings rising and falling, destruction and the prescient image of destruction; a tank.

The actions of the aerial performer strike a balance between performance and introspection as the figures defy gravity in an obvious act of showmanship but ultimately remain self contained and unaware of the viewer. Darker and more sombre these paintings are a development away from her recent carnival theme to a dark yet beautiful world.

Early’s works are typically oil paintings on metal or canvas, and for this show there are also pieces in oil on perspex. The use of oil on a these surfaces means the light plays across the surface in an almost etheral way, which together with the layering of landscapes, objects and figures creates a mutli -dimensional world; the viewer has the sense of catching glimpses of this other world as we are passing by.

Stolen Space welcome Miss Van, renowned female street artist, for her first UK solo show (her largest solo show to date), ‘Lovestain’ , tomorrow evening. A combination of retrospective and new works will spread through Stolen Space’s usual space into the adjacent Dray Walk Gallery.

Head down there between 6-9pm for a free Tiger beer and a chance to have the first look at what will undoubtedly be a memorable show from a legend of the game. If you can’t make tomorrow night though, the show will be on until October 18.

Celebrating a decade of work together the two founding members of TLP have come together for a show at Stolen Space entitled ’10 Years On The Circle Line’. The private view is on April 9, from 6-9pm.

This show is a celebration of a decade of work by the duo and for the 1st time collaborating what has become vastly different styles. While one artist’s skill at drawing a circle ‘freehand’ is staggering, no compasses, guides or masks are used. While the other, since his departure in 2004, has developed his own imagery, an architectural style of line drawing. In these playful fantasy cityscapes ‘the lads’ are constructed and move around freely, in turn helping to build further elements of the city. They wanted to create a place full of interaction between their circle drawing and line drawing.

This show will feature new works from the The London Police on linen & canvas, video installation and photography…. as well as see the release of a new limited edition hand pulled screen print.
