Weapon of Choice gallery in Bristol is gearing up for its group show this December and the 2nd of December will see the likes of Acer One, Cheba, Inkie, The Krah, Sepr and many more displaying work. For further information, hit the WOC website.

A documentary short looking at ‘See No Evil and the rise of the global street art movement. Europe’s largest street art installation transformed Nelson Street in Central Bristol into a massive outdoor art gallery.

The documentary features interviews with some of the 72 artists involved including Inkie, Tats Cru, El Mac, Nick Walker, Shoe, Xenz,
China Mike and Paris. Over the course of a week the artists used over 13,400 cans of spray paint to create huge murals, up to 10 storey’s high.

The film also explores how street art has a natural home in Bristol and explains the cities long and colourful graffiti history. Organised by Inkie, Team Love and Weapon of Choice with the support of Bristol City Council and Nelson Street’s building owners. Bristol celebrated the project with an NYC style block party and three ‘Hear No Evil’ events in the disused Westgate building on Nelson Street.

The film adopts a number of filming techniques, including time lapse photography, cable dollys and polecams to capture the transformation taking place. Most of the footage was shot on Canon 5D. The film was produced by Hurricane Media with the support of Bristol City Council to serve as a lasting legacy to the project. www.hurricanemedia.co.uk

Dozens of buildings, a bridge, 6 mega cranes, 326 metres of street, 26 scaffold towers, 325 litres of emulsion, 13,400 cans of paint and thousands of happy visitors.

Organised by Inkie, Team Love and Weapon of Choice with the support of Bristol City Council and Nelson Street’s building owners, we celebrated the project with an NYC style block party and three ‘Hear No Evil’ events in the incredible disused Westgate building.

Banksy will donate the proceeds from the sale of a brand new poster he has created to the Peoples Republic of Stokes Croft. The donations will go towards an effort to help in the wake of the recent Bristol Tesco riots. The piece will be made exclusively available during Bristol’s Anarchist Bookfair on Saturday, May 7th. Priced at  £5 a poster, it will no doubt go down a storm.

The 12th November sees the first solo show from Lokey at the Weapon of Choice Gallery in Bristol. Lokey was born and raised in Bristol. His passion for Graffiti started in the mid 1980’s through a chance meeting in a local park, with some kid’s break-dancing who had returned from their holiday in America with hip-hop mix tapes and photographs of Graffiti.

The show will be an exhibition of his artworks adapted from his black books, inspiration for his graffiti and an insight into his imagination. The show will run until December 5th 2010.

Weapon of Choice take over the upstairs of Howies Bristol store with ‘The Live Show’ Opening Friday 23rd July 6-10pm
