UK STREET ART travelled down to Bristol last Friday to check out a very special transatlantic collaboration between the noted Corey Helford Gallery from Los Angeles and Bristol’s City Museum & Art Gallery. No amount of volcanic ash was going to stop this showstopping one off collaboration from taking place despite being postponed to a few weeks later due to all the flight cancellations. The curators of the show were so adamant for this priceless collection to arrive they decided to have it transported by sea instead!
Art from the New World showcases the work of the finest up and coming artists from America. The diverse collection presents work from various angles of contemporary art such as pop surrealism and neo figurative to colourful street art.
Art from the New World promises a very fun day out for all contemporary art fanatics. Our eyes were in heaven as we walked around the museum; each piece has been specifically created for the show and we were mesmerised by it all. A real highlight of our visit was a fifteen-foot tall ‘ice cream cone’ balloon sculpture created by well known street artist Buff Monster. We got to catch up with the man himself and watch him add his finishing touches to his murals.
The exhibition is now open to the public for free until Sunday 22 August. We recommend you hop on the train wherever you are and go explore this fun filled exhibition for yourselves.

We’ve heard some things about a new artist who is about to heat up the scene and this weekend, PEN 1, hit Shoreditch with this stencil of Kate Moss. We’re sure you’ll agree that this style of mugshot and whit will go down well. Keep your eyes peeled for more coming soon…
