Maggie’s Culture Crawl is a 15-mile night-hike full of discovery, culture and surprise to raise money for Maggie’s, an organisation offering free emotional, practical and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends.

Working in partnership with Open House, the route offers exclusive access to some of London’s best buildings, including the Gherkin, The Foreign Office, The Royal Geographical Society and EDF Energy London Eye.

Within these extraordinary buildings Maggie’s will be hosting a range of cultural activities with the generous support of a range of partners and contributors, including:

• A silent disco from BBC Radio 3 DJ’s Nick Luscombe and Max Reinhardt at the Royal Geographical Society

• Interactive art installation along the route from Rebecca Law – best known for her large scale installations of hanging flowers

• Immersive experience by artist Robin Blackledge at Maggie’s London

• Mr Foggs of Mayfair, home of the eccentric British adventurer will create a theatrical world of discovery

There will also be delicious food and drink on offer with a bespoke tea tasting from Fortnum & Mason at the Foreign Office, Box Noodles to keep walkers energised along the route and Leon providing a well deserved breakfast at the finish line at The Gherkin.

Maggie’s Culture Crawl is the first ever charity event of its kind combining art and exhibition, music through to dance and storytelling, and aims to pull together the best of what London has to offer in home-grown world class talent.

Last year’s walkers raised more than £600,000 – enough to run a Maggie’s Centre for a whole year and organisers are keen to beat this target this year.

“I’m taking part in the Maggie’s Culture Crawl as the support Maggie’s offered me during and after my treatment for breast cancer was amazing.  It really helped me get back on my feet and to get my head around the huge changes that happened in my life at the time. The great thing about Maggie’s is that its not only for the person who has been diagnosed with cancer but they also recognise the huge affect that diagnosis has on the families and friends who they also offer support to.”

Beginning at 7.30pm, Maggie’s Culture Crawl is a fun challenge with a great atmosphere, and an ideal opportunity to fundraise with family and friends.
